Konrad Bauman is the technician in charge of the Pest Control Harrow branch of PESTUK. Konrad is a pest control technician with a great deal of experience in pest control within the London area. Konrad specialises in pest control proofing and can make a house or commercial premises rat and mouse proof for a reasonable charge. Proofing of older properties is often the only way to solve pest control issues in regard to pest problems with rats, mice & squirrels especially in premises attached to other properties such as terraced houses, maisonettes & flats. Pest control proofing is not just restricted to domestic sites, restaurants, take aways and other commercial premises in older buildings require pest control proofing for them to comply with pest control regulations.

The London Borough of Harrow is to the northwest of London, bordering Hertfordshire to the north, Hillingdon to the west and Ealing to the south. The suburban town Harrow is also home to the administrative offices of the borough itself as well as being a commercial hub with 2 shopping centres, over 300 metres of fully pedestrianised shopping roads north of St Ann’s.

The Harrow Urban District was formed in 1934 as an urban district of middlesex as a merger of the former areas- Harrow on the Hill urban District, Hendon Rural District and Wealdstone Urban District. In 1954 the district gained status as a municipal borough, the urban district council also became Harrow Borough Council. In 1965 the municipal borough was abolished and the former area was transferred to Greater London from Middlesex under the London Government Act 1963 to form the London Borough of Harrow.

Harrow is a diverse borough with 63.8% of its population from the BME communities, the largest group being of Indian ethnicity. the borough also has the largest concentration of Sri Lankan Tamils in the UK. Harrow is also the most religiously diverse local authority in the UK, as part of a 2011 census Harrow has a larger than average Hindu, Jewish and Muslim population.

Major employers in the area include Kodak, Lend Lease Project Management & Construction, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Ladbrokes.

Harrow is home to a University of Westminster campus and the older secondary schools are Harrow School, founded in 1572 by John Lyon under a royal charter of Elizabeth I and is one of the original 7 public schools that were regulated by the Public Schools Act 1868. Former pupils include Robert Peel, Winston Churchill and the first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. Harrow High School was formerly home to the Harrow county School for Boys. In 1975 when the borough adopted a comprehensive system the school became known as Gayton High School. As of 1998 the school has become coeducational and a specialist sports college. There are also 2 special needs high schools, Kingsley High School and Shaftesbury High School.

Harrow has a variety of London Underground, London Overground and National Rail services including- Harrow-on-the-hill-station, West Harrow tube station, South Harrow tube.

Harrow has one league 2 football club, Baret FC who moved to The Hive Stadium from the neighbouring London Borough of Barnet in 2013. There are also 3 non-league clubs- Wealdstone FC, Harrow Borough F.C. and Rayners Lane F.C.
5 of the 30 cricket clubs that play in the Middlesex County Cricket League are based in the Borough of Harrow.

Pest Control in Harrow

Harrow is part of London and has an older sewer system as well as old housing stock. This means that Harrow gets more than it’s fair share of pest control problems, especially pest problems with rats, mice, cockroaches and bed bugs. Pest control problems with these pests are more prevalent in older premises. The older sewers mean that there are more cases of rats emerging from sewer breaches and the rat population in older sewers is far greater than rats in newer systems. A single breach in a sewer can lead to pest control problems in a wide area surrounding the breach. Older housing also means
more cockroach and bed bug pest control problems. PESTUK currently has pest control contracts in shops, offices, take away restaurants, schools, pubs and serviced offices in Harrow and the surrounding area.
As well as our expanding pest control contract base in Harrow, PESTUK carry out many ‘one off’ pest control treatments for domestic and commercial premises including wasp nests, hornets, ants, bees, squirrels, mice, rats, fleas, cockroaches, bed bugs, foxes, moles and other pests.

Some of the pests we deal with:
RatsYou may see rats during daylight hours but they prefer to operate at night.
AntsWorker ants will frequently enter dwellings foraging for food, particularly sweet substances.
CockroachesCockroaches are mainly nocturnal so they are more likely to be seen at night.
SquirrelsThe most common complaint about Squirrels is when they take residence in a loft space.
MiceYou may see, hear or smell a mouse problem or see other evidence such as burrowing in insulation or soil.
WaspsWasps are aggressive and will sting readily if they think the nest is in danger.
