A historic market town in the county of Oxfordshire. It was originally part of Berkshire until it was made part of the Vale of the White Horse district of Oxfordshire in 1974 due to reorganising of Berkshire. Wantage is the birthplace of King Alfred the Great, born in 849 in what was originally known as Wanating.

Treatment of Rats

Rats carry diseases, they can start fires & cause other damage by chewing through cables, water pipes etc, they kill other wildlife and an infestation will breed and spread rapidly. Rat infestations are normally dealt with using a cereal based poison bait containing an anticoagulant poison called Sakarat, which contains the poison Bromadioline 0.005%. This poison usually requires that the rats feed several times before dying or if they consume enough poison to give them a lethal dose on their first feed they will not suffer any ill effects until some time after feeding. This ensures that the rats do not become suspicious and associate the bait with illness or death and that a ‘complete kill’ takes place killing all the rats in the colony. The technician would explain the process before setting baits down and would also explain how to prevent any further issues later on.
