Rats in February
Rats in February
At PEST UK we have received a lot of calls concerning rats in February. Although we carry out rat and other pest control treatments in Berkshire, Middlesex, Surrey, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire & West London we are getting a lot of calls about rats in February in the Hounslow area. In ‘normal’ years rat enquiries peak in January but this year due to the warm Winter the rat problems appear to be coming in later in February. Rat and mouse populations peak in the Autumn after taking advantage of the warm weather and abundant food of the late Summer and Autumn. These rats will migrate towards buildings and gardens as the weather gets colder and the vegetation dies back. The warm Winter has made these problems less pressing but leaving the rat and mouse population high but a lower percentage of that rat and mouse population coming into contact with people, building and gardens. This has started to change as February has been colder than January and this has lead to increasing calls about rat problems into PEST UK.
How much does a rat treatment cost?
The basic charge for a guaranteed rat treatment for a ‘normal’ sized property is £100 + VAT for a minimum of 2 visits. We operate a same day service 7 days a week and are cheaper than many Local Authority pest Control Departments as well (in our opinion) providing a far superior service. Not only do we treat the rat or mouse problem but we look at why you have the problem and how to prevent this problem happening in the future.
