The most common pests in July that our technicians deal with include the following-

Wasps

The most common pests in July July is a high point for wasp activity. Nests are large and at their highest productive point. If you find wasps randomly appearing within a room of the house, you may have a wasp nest in a wall space or the loft. We recommend not blocking the entrance as this will just cause them to become aggravated and more likely to sting you or family members. We will use a residual insecticide treating the nest or the entrance to the nest. The wasps will be hyper active for a couple of hours before they settle, so we recommend keeping windows closed and pets and children away from the area.

Ants

The most common pests in July Worker ants will be foraging for food and will be noticed more often this time of year as we use our gardens for BBQs and gardening and parties. They can be in the home in a very large number that can be very distressing to walk in on. Ants will be from a number of nests so destroying one will not solve the issue. Our technicians will treat infested areas with one or both a residual insecticide spray and gel bait. Ants will walk over insecticide and return to the nest rubbing against each other.

Flies

Flies are more active this time of year. They feed by vomiting their saliva onto food and sucking up the liquid. They contaminate food with this and their feet as they may have last landed on faeces. To prevent flies from laying eggs it is advisavble that food is kept covered and waste food is disposed of properly. Flies may be responsible for spreading food poisoning andalso dysentery. If flies are present in a large number this could be because something has died near to or in your home. Technicians can locate the source and also provide residual insecticidal sprays to kill flies.
