Mice are extremely adaptable. they will change there behaviour to fit into the environment they are in. House mice consume food meant for humans or pets. They will contaminate food preparation areas with their faeces, which can contain the bacterium salmonellosis, this bacteria causes food poisoning. People are often more tolerant of mice than rats although they carry the same diseases as rats and are more likely to transmit such diseases, as they are more curious and braver. Coming into contact with food, cutlery and work surfaces. House mice live and thrive under a variety of conditions in and around homes and farms.

Treatment of Mice

Effective control of mice involves sanitation, mouse proof construction and population reduction. The first two are good as preventive measures. When a mouse infestation already exists though, some form of population reduction is always necessary. Reduction techniques include trapping and poisoning. Trapping will only reduce a mouse population, it will rarely eliminate it completely. Mice breed very quickly so elimination is the desired action. Poison baiting is the quickest way to deal with a mouse infestation. The right type of bait in the right places has to be used for the whole population to feed on the bait for the treatment to be successful. Mice are territorial and if the bait is not in a mouse’s territory then it won’t take the bait.
