Help Save Ash Trees:

In my opinion Ash Trees are not the most attractive tree, I prefer Beech or Oak but we don’t want the Ash Tree to go the same way as the Elm whose demise in the 1970’s changed the landscape in the UK. It is all about types of pest control. Pests are always developing and changing to be successful. The risk is then increased as man changes the environment making it much easier (in some cases) for pests to develop and thrive. An example of this is planting a single species of tree or crop over a wide area. Where as pests would have difficulty in moving from one food source to another in a ‘mixed’ tree or natural plant area, with mono culture this (one of many) for the pest has been eliminated.
