Guildford Borough Council Pest Control Charges
Guildford Borough Council don’t have their own pest controllers but use SDK Enviromental who are also known as Dial A Pest. This is a cleaning company based in Devon that branched out into pest control and contracts for several council pest control departments. Their charges are far higher for many pests than PEST UK’s prices. This is surprising when you compare the quality of the service. PEST UK is open 7 days a week, we work in the evenings, early mornings at no extra charge, we give timed appointments (SDK will usually just give you a day and they rarely work past 3pm) and then the quality of the staff at PEST UK we have highly experienced technicians, all of which are CRB checked, are full members of the PROMPT scheme as well as being in the BPCA and Trading Standards ‘Buy With Confidence’ club.
Guildford Borough Council Pest Control Charges – their contractor, SDK, charge £20 more for a wasp nest than PEST UK! They do not treat Ants, Deer, Foxes, Moles, Squirrels, Moths, Carpet Beetles or Pigeons. So if they come out to treat a wasp nest and you find you have one of these pests it won’t get treated. Why? Could it be that they are using cleaning staff who are not really experienced in pest control? This may or may not be the case but as the service (going by the prices) does not appear to be subsidised then I can see of no reason why these other pests are not treated.
I can never understand why councils sub contract a pest control service to one contractor. Best solution would be to direct customers to the British Association website where customers can choose from several companies who will all be competing on quality and price toga custom. All BPCA members are inspected at regular intervals and the criteria for being a member includes full qualification (with ongoing training), CRB checks as well as vans and premises being inspected.
Bottom line is: don’t choose the pest control contractor that Guildford Borough Council offer, get a quality cost effective pest control company such as PEST UK!
