Bird Free Fire Gel:

Things have slowed down a little for the winter at PEST UK now, however we are still busy with all of the winter pests and birdwork.Winter brings a different type of pest, more rodent the insect related, some insects such as bed bus and cockroaches are steady throughout the year but wasps, flies and fleas tend to be more seasonal.

This week I trialled a new bird work system on a block of flats in Henley. This new system was ‘Bird Free Fire Gel’. Much of the building was spiked, however ‘Bird Free Fire’ gel was applied on some of the rooftops. This system is visually much better than the traditional bird proofing of spikes and nets, however it is not as good in high pressure areas. It does have to regularly/annually be reapplied in order to remain effective. The bird free fire gel comes pre-packed in small dishes which we can apply to areas where pigeons are sitting, and it makes the birds perceive the areas to be on fire and therefore deters them from perching. The results from bird free fire gel appear to be quite good, particularly on roofs where pigeon just rest during the day. In future I will begin offering bird free fire gel type of bird proofing to clients when I do quotes. I imagine this new Bird Free Fire Gel will particularly be useful in domestic situations or country houses where bird spiking would be considered distasteful.
