Slough Trading Estate was built on land that was owned by the government and used in the First World War for storing and repairing army vehicles. This site was re named Slough Estates Ltd in 1925 and expanded rapidly attracting workers from all over the world.

The population of Slough is probably the most diverse in Britain with many different religions and races from all parts of the world but mainly Asia and Eastern Europe.
The town is made up of Langley, Cippenham, Upton Park, Chalvey, Britwell, Huntercombe, Manor Park, Salt Hill, Upton Lea, Windsor Meadows, Wexham, Colnbrook & Poyle. The diverse population in itself can lead to problems with pest control. Cockroaches in some hotter countries may not be tolerated & so these and other pests may go unreported & untreated.

History
First record of Slough was in 1196 when the name Slo was used. This changed to Sloo in 1336 and Le Slowe, Slowe or Slow in 1437. Henry 111 had a palace in Cippenham. Some parts of Upton Court date back from 1325.

Pest Control in Slough
Slough is densely populated with many old housing estates and many dwellings are multiple occupancy leading to pest control problems with rodents, cockroaches and bed bugs. Slough has the recipe for a great many pest control problems: old housing stock, a canal & a railway running through the centre. Railways & canals provide areas of food & cover as well as routes for rats, mice, squirrels & some insect pests. Premises & houses bordering these areas suffer more pest control problems in regard to these pests than other areas. The crowded housing conditions in Slough lead to increased incidences of pest control problems involving cockroaches, bed bugs, rats & mice. The poverty in some areas often lead to these pests being left untreated making the general pest control problem worse in the area.

PEST UK have carried out pest control in Slough for over 25 years. PEST UK have pest control contracts at several well known companies in Slough including: Slough Heat & Power, Blackberry Phones, Reckitt Benckiser & Lease Plan. Squirrels - The most common complaint about Squirrels is when they take residence in a loft space.
Mice - You may see, hear or smell a mouse problem or see other evidence such as burrowing in insulation or soil.
