Rick Null runs the PEST UK Newbury Pest Control Office. He has been a pest control technician for over 20 years (he previously worked for Ecolab) & has been with PEST UK for 15. He is highly experienced in all aspects of pest control but specialises in large domestic pest control contracts & installing (or supervising) the installation of anti perch systems for pigeons.

Newbury is a market town in the West of Berkshire. Newbury has it’s own racecourse.

In the surrounding area there are many horse race trainers as well as Highclere and Donnington Castle. PEST UK have pest control contracts at several of these training stables, including Clare Balding’s stables. Newbury was formed in the late 11th century after the Norman invasion. The cloth trade played an important part of Newbury’s wealth. There were two battles nearby in the Civil War. The importance of Newbury was increased with the popularity of Bath in the 18th century as travellers on the way there from London would stop in Newbury. Newbury is the headquarters of the mobile phone company Vodafone as well as Bayer AG, National Instruments, Micro Focus, NTS Express Road Haulage and many more.

Pest Control in Newbury: The pest control mix in this area is slightly different to the rest of PEST UK’s coverage area in that it is more rural. PEST UK have pest control contracts in many schools in the area, restaurants, a carpet showroom, private houses, Ambulance Stations, most of Greenham Business Park, Newbury Manor Hotel, pubs, Office blocks & a garage. We even have contracts for West Berkshire Council. There was a supposed ‘resistance’ problem at the Waterside Youth & Community Centre (this site is next to the river), Rick Null took this over from the existing pest control council contractor, cleared up the rat problem & we have had a pest control contract on the site for the last 7 years. As well as many pest control contracts, Newbury has its fair share of other pest control problems which include wasps, hornets, bees, ants, bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, rats, rabbits, moles, mice, squirrels, cluster flies & other insect pests. These pests are often treated on a ‘one off’ basis or as part of a pest control contract.

Newbury has a canal, river & railway line running through it. These structures can be highways for rats, mice, squirrels & some insect pests. Domestic properties & businesses around these areas will often suffer increased pest control problems than other properties in the area. PEST UK have operated the pest control business in the Newbury area for over 25 years.

Rats - You may see rats during daylight hours but they prefer to operate at night.
Ants - Worker ants will frequently enter dwellings foraging for food, particularly sweet substances.
Cockroaches - Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal so they are more likely to be seen at night.
Squirrels - The most common complaint about Squirrels is when they take residence in a loft space.
Mice - You may see, hear or smell a mouse problem or see other evidence such as burrowing in insulation or soil.
Wasps - Wasps are aggressive and will sting readily if they think the nest is in danger.
