Operation Smile PEST UK
Operation Smile UK & Proof of PEST UK’s December 2015 donation of £999.00 to Operation Smile. This charity helps children all over the world, but mostly in poorer countries where healthcare is not as advanced or free as it is in most Western countries. It is a simple operation to fix a cleft palate but devastating for anyone with this condition who is not treated. It is not unheard of in some countries for babies born with this type of condition to be ‘disposed off’ by the parents. Look on the Operation Smile website for more details of the work they do and ways to help this great charity.Operation Smile UK
Operation Smile PEST UK, we have been supporting Operation Smile for 4 years now, each year we have given more money as we have been more successful then the amount of money we have donated to Operation Smile has increased year on year and we hope this continues.
One the the most noticeable facts about Operation Smile is the number of places where clinics are set up and the frequency of these. Check out the list on the Operation Smile website. The clinics are all over the world (even in the UK).
Pest Control Companies in Hounslow
There are many pest control companies in Hounslow area and there needs to be! The south of the area has a railway line running through it (railway lines, major roads, rivers, canals etc are a conduit for rats, mice, squirrels and some insect pests). Surprisingly Hounslow Council pest control Dept advertises heavily on Google and other search engine websites. The reason they do this is that their prices are nearly DOUBLE that of PEST UK in many cases. It appears that Hounslow have a council who despite their low running costs and heavy subsidies are failing to compete successfully with private pest control companies.
PEST UK in Hounslow
PEST UK has recently expanded it’s pest control service to include pest control in the Hounslow area. To do this we now have a new pest control office. This new office is at: 32 Kingsley Rd Hounslow TW3 1NS and the telephone number is: 020 8945 3481. BPCA (British Pest Control Association) member companies in Hounslow. Although several BPCA member companies serve the Hounslow are cor pest control, PEST UK is the only pest control company that has an office actually in Hounslow.

Reasons for Choosing a BPCA Member

In addition to this all PEST UK pest control technicians are CRB checked. We have some of the most experienced pest control technicians in the country working at PEST UK.

Hounslow Pest Control: This is part of PEST UK’s pest control expansion plan to provide pest control services to the area. Pests treated in the Hounslow area include: wasps, ants, fleas, bed bugs, cockroaches, rats, squirrels, mice and flies.
One of the advantages for PEST UK are the sky high prices that Hounslow Council Pest Control Department charge. For some reason they charge almost double the price that PEST UK charge for some pests. Unless you are in receipt of some benefits. Then you get a discount, but this can still be dearer than PEST UK’s prices. PEST UK provide a superb service which includes appointment times (not just afternoon or morning). We have appointments to suit our customers such as early morning, evening and weekend appointments at no extra charge. All PEST UK pest control technicians are fully qualified, all are CRB checked. We don’t use trainees.
PEST UK is a full BPCA member. The BPCA (British Pest Control Association) inspect member companies on a regular basis. This is a full inspection, they check vans, store, office and actually observe work being carried out. Not many organisations of a similar nature do this. Most do a ‘desk top’ audit. This is where documents and checklists are sent by e mail but procedures, stores etc are never physically checked.
If you have any sort of pest control problem in the Hounslow area, wether it be a wasp nest, a bed bug problem, rats in the loft, mice in the kitchen, ants in the lounge, squirrels in the loft, cockroaches in the kitchen, fleas in the carpet or any other pest control problem, or even just want some free pest control advice then please call PEST UK on: 0800 026 0308 (free from landlines & some mobiles) or 0330 100 2811 (local rate) or on the Hounslow number of 020 8945 3481. You can phone any time (24 hours) and any day including weekends and bank holidays.

Operation Smile UK & PEST UK’s Annual Donation
For the last 3 years PEST UK has donated 1% of annual profits to Operation Smile and this year (December 2015) we are donating again. This year we are donating £999.00.
There are several reasons that we donate 1% of our annual profits to a charity. First we always get pestered by e mails, phone calls and letters from various charities asking for donations. Many are worthy causes but I am sure a lot are not. We want people to benefit from our success so we decided to choose a charity that we knew was a proper charity that helps people (especially children) across the world in nearly every country but mainly poor countries.
Another reason is commercial. Unlike many of the larger well known charities Operation Smile allows us to use their logo on our website, advertising and stationary. This allows people to make a choice. It means if they choose PEST UK over a similar company that does not give 1% of it’s annual profit to charity then at least a percentage of the money they are paying goes to charity.
While selecting a charity to donate to we looked at: Oxfam, Save The Children, UNICEF, Barnados and many more. None of these charities would allow us to use their logo’s. Save the Children said we could but we had to donate at least £50 000.00. Another one of these (I forget which) said that their ‘main’ sponsor (Boots) did not allow them to let other companies use the charities logo. I feel that these charities are making a massive mistake. It would be far better to tap into the massive small company market than just have a few sponsors. I doubt Boots give 1% of their profits to charity! I believe there is case for the Monopolies Commission to look at large Multi National Companies monopolising the charity industry. It would benefit small companies and the charities themselves if this sector was opened up to all companies, large and small.
Anyway, PEST UK is donating £999.00 to Operation Smile. 14/12/15.
Operation Smile UK
Restaurants, fast food outlets, food retailers and food manufacturers all need adequate pest control measures in place.
Pest control needs to be in place throughout the food chain – from the arrival and storage of raw ingredients, right through to waste disposal. All food premises will need to monitor their storage, processing areas, kitchens and equipment. Retail outlets will also have to ensure that the public-facing areas of their businesses show high standards of hygiene to inspire confidence, and maintain a credible reputation.
The most worrying aspects of food premises pest control procedures are:
- The possibility of contamination and the costly consequences of disposal and replacement
- The possibility of claims or compensation from customers
- The loss of reputation and public image
Inadequate pest control procedures can lead to:
- Contamination of raw materials
- Lost revenue
- Loss of talented staff
- Possible fines and charges
- Loss of trust within the community
Adequate Pest Control in restaurants and food premises is a legal requirement and is governed by various food hygiene regulations:
- Regulation (EC) 178/2002 of the European Parliament – This regulation lays down the principles and requirements of food law. Article 14 of Regulation (EC) 78/2002 deals with unsafe food. It is an offence not to comply with article 14 under the General Food Regulations 2004. Food shall be deemed unsafe if it is considered to be injurious to health or unfit for human consumption.
- Regulation (EC) 852/2004 – These regulations lay down general hygiene requirements for all food business operators and state that:
- The layout, design and construction of food premises are to permit good food hygiene practices including protection against contamination and in particular, pest control.
- Adequate procedures should be in place to control pests
- HaCCP – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point – According to EC Regulation No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs, with the exception of activities at the level of primary production, food business operators are required to put in place procedures, which manage food safety within their establishment. Article 5 of the regulation requires that the procedure or procedures be based upon the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principle. However, it does not necessarily constrain food business operators to implement a HACCP system if this is not appropriate. Pest management is part of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food businesses, which is a prerequisite for the HACCP based procedures in place. As an integral part of the GMPs, it should be carried out with due diligence and proper documentation
Inspections are carried out by Environmental Health Inspectors from your local authority working within the guidelines laid down by the Food Standards Agency.
Inspectors will be checking that your business produces food that is safe to eat. This will include checking:
- your premises
- the kinds of food you make or prepare
- how you work
- your food safety management system
The inspectors will also be checking your food descriptions and labelling to make sure they are not misleading.
Inspections can take place at any time – they may be pre-arranged routine inspections or they may be as a result of a complaint – inspectors have the right to enter and inspect food premises at all reasonable hours. They do not have to make an appointment and will usually come without notice.
Professional Pest Control in Restaurants and Food Premises
It is often in the best interests of the business to employ the services of a professional pest control team like PEST UK. Not only will they be able to provide professional and adequate pest management and prevention services, but are also best-placed to deal with any pest control problems immediately. PEST UK are members of BPCA, and so are always up-to-date with any changes in legislation.
PEST UK team members will build a relationship with the business, enabling them to react quickly when problems arise, and also to develop a knowledge of the business and its particular risks and concerns, making it easier to prevent any pest issues arising.
Wokingham is a small wealthy town situated in Berkshire between Reading and Bracknell. The Wokingham Borough Council covers a wide area from Crowthorne in the South to Wargrave in the north. At PEST UK we carry out a variety of pest control treatments in the Wokingham area including cockroaches, bed bugs, fleas, rats, mice, squirrels, ants, foxes, rabbits, moles, cluster flies and many more. We have many pest control contracts in the Wokingham area, a great number of these are large private houses as well as commercial premises such as shops, restaurants and food premises. For some reason there are a higher rate of wasp nest problems in the Wokingham area than other areas of the same size and population within the PEST UK service area (PEST UK cover the areas of Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Middlesex, South Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire).
Trust is so important with pest control. If you are letting people deal with potentially dangerous substances and are letting them into your home the pest control technician must be trustworthy. PEST UK pride themselves in this. All staff are BPCA qualified and CRB checked.
Not only are the PEST UK technicians CRB checked and BPCA qualified (British Pest Control Association) but all are in the PROMPT/BASIS scheme which ensure that they have on going refresher training. The BPCA also carry out regular inspections on member companies to check that they are properly insured and their work practices are in order. They will also investigate any complaints from customers.
PEST UK offer a quality pest control service at very reasonable rates. We are often cheaper (and offer a 7 day a week same day service) than Wokingham Borough Council or any other pest control companies in the area. Please call Pest Control in Wokingham – PEST UK on 0118 373 3369 to book a pest control treatment or just for some advice.

Pest Control in Woking: Woking in Surrey was one of the first areas that PEST UK expanded into after Berkshire and Basingstoke. Woking is a fairly wealthy area with a cross section of pest problems that include Bed Bugs (these sometimes indicate poorer housing conditions but can also mean people travelling abroad and staying in hotels), wasp/bee nests, ants cockroaches, fleas, rats, mice and squirrels.
Pest Control in Woking, Surrey – PEST UK
PEST UK also have pest control contracts in several commercial sites in Woking including two pubs, a restaurant, a Sheltered Housing site, an office complex and 3 shops. Woking has a railway line running through the centre, it actually splits in two which means more homes and businesses are flanked by railway lines. This is important in regard to pest control as there are always more pest problems in the vicinity of railway lines that usually involve rats, mice, squirrels and some insect pests.
If you live in Woking and have a pest control problem then please call PEST UK, not only are we quicker to respond to requests form the public than the council and other pest control companies our rates are very reasonable and in some cases cheaper than the council. PEST UK is also a member of the BPCA (the British Pest Control Association) which means you will get a fully qualified and properly insured pest control technician. Some councils and companies use trainees, at PEST UK trainees or apprentices are never allowed to work unaccompanied until fully qualified.
Another difference about using PEST UK over other organisations is that the technicians have a share in the company. The jobs belong to them so it is in their own interest to see the job through to a successful conclusion otherwise they have to rectify it at their own expense.
For pest control in Woking you can contact PEST UK 7 days a week 24 hours a day, some one will answer the phone.

Pest Control in Farnham: Although Farnham in Surrey is a small market town it is actually in a densely populated part of England that are all linked together in a ribbon of buildings that include the towns of Farnham, Aldershot, Farnborough, Frimley, Camberley, Sandhurst and Lightwater. PEST UK have had the Farnham pest control office since 2013 and we have several pest control contracts in the Farnham area including two Nursing Homes, several pubs and an Italian restaurant. Our main pest control treatments in the Farnham area consists of one off treatments for both domestic and commercial premises in Farnham including wasps, bees, ants, rats, mice, squirrels, bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, rabbits and foxes. Farnham has a river and railway line running through it’s centre. Both these structures can lead to increased incidents of pest activity in premises near to these. The reason for this is that both railway line and waterways can provide a travelling route for rats, mice, squirrels and some insect pests as well as a food source. We find that a high percentage of rat, mouse and squirrel pest control issues in Farnham are the result of people feeding birds, squirrels and other animals such as foxes. Feeding birds supplies small amounts of high protein food in the same place at regular intervals, ideal for rats, mice and squirrels. In time these pests will find their way into nearby buildings.
At PEST UK we offer pest control treatments of rodents and insects as well as maintenance pest control contracts so that we can prevent infestations before they arise. These pest control contracts can be tailored to cover what ever pests are required. The most common contracts that we have in place are for food establishments which are covered against rats, mice & the monitoring for cockroaches and other insect pests. The environmental health like to see contracts like these in place when they carry out their checks as it shows due diligence.

PEST UK has had a pest control Ascot, Berkshire office for several years. Ascot is a small but prosperous area in Berkshire and does not suffer from some areas from poor sewer infrastructure that leads to rat and mouse pest problems. It does have a railway line running through the South area of the town. Railway lines can be a conduit for rat, mouse, squirrel and some insect pest control problems. It is noticeable that properties, both commercial and domestic, near to railway lines, canals, rivers, waterways and some major roads suffer form more pest problems than others. PEST UK had a pest control contract at a pet food manufacturer in Ascot. This was a large site in South Ascot near to the railway line in Ascot which when we started the pest control contract had a massive rat problem. We cleared this up but unfortunately the site closed and houses were built on the site.

Bracknell & Pest Control
Pest Control Bracknell PEST UK:
PEST UK recently (2015) opened a Pest Control Bracknell Office in Bracknell. We already had technicians in Ascot, Wokingham, Reading and Camberley so a new Pest Control office serving the Bracknell area completes the area.
