Birds Control
How do I know I have a problem with Birds?
This may sound a daft problem but it may be an infestation of Bird Mites,
Biscuit Beetles, Bird Fleas or another insect pest that indicates a bird
problem. There may be a build up of droppings (a potential disease hazard)
or being woken up early by young birds being fed in the nest. |

Why should they be treated, culled or ‘proofed’ out
As mentioned there are diseases (psittacosis being one) that are transmitted
via bird droppings and the insect pests associated with bird’s
nests.
Preparation
The first thing to find out is what type of birds you are dealing
with & where. The reason for this is that most birds are protected.
Pigeons being the main exception. If a bird is protected there are
still steps that can be taken to prevent the problem in the future.
Treatment/Proofing/Culling
We install anti-perch spiking, netting and wiring systems for pigeons.
Qualified technicians will carry out night shoots. Please phone for
a free quote and advice. The birds most likely to cause a problem
in domestic premises are Starlings or Sparrows. These are protected
so any proofing and/or removing of nests will have to be carried
out once the nest has been finished with. With the exception of mice
a soundly constructed building will not allow access to birds or
larger rodents. If birds or rodents are gaining access then building
work is the only long term solution and any proofing carried out
by us is only a temporary measure. This does not include the netting
or spiking systems installed on larger buildings. (Although temporary
may be quite a long time, depending on individual circumstances.)
